'...I now have a mentor for a lifetime..'
'The highly professional level of commitment, collaboration and mutual understanding between me and my mentor was a process that taught me both about my work and new objective perspectives on how I should work in order to improve. I must say thatI have not only had a mentor for this particular project, but I now have a mentor for a lifetime – without any doubt or hesitation.'

'...a transformative experience..'
'Participating in the Equal Voices in ELT (EVE) programme has been a transformative experience for me as an English language teacher. EVE’s mission to close the gender gap in ELT leadership roles deeply resonated with me, as it strives to empower female educators to take active roles in training, presenting, and professional development. It was a unique experience, because it gave me the empowerment I needed to take the first steps into public speaking. Despite being a teacher and "performing" in front of the class and despite having my own business, I found it extremely difficult to find the courage to make proposals for conferences. The question I would always ask to myself was "what do you have to say that would be of interest to other people?"
The EVE mentoring program offered the answer. We, as Greek female educators, have a lot to say, but we are not represented equally in conferences.
I was privileged to have an exquisite mentor supporting and assisting me trough the duration of the program and I couldn't be more thankful.
It was a motivating, empowering and inspiring process for me, and I am confident that next time I won't be afraid to send my proposal to conferences.

'I overcame my fear of public speaking..
'Joining the EVE Mentoring Program as a mentee has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. With the help of my mentor, the supportive Steering Committee, and encouragement from other mentors and their mentees, I have overcome my fear of public speaking and big audiences. I presented my research findings for the first time at the EVE Online Conference, which helped me break the ice and taste what it feels like to present in front of an audience of peers and experts. Before the EVE mentoring program, I dreaded the thought of presenting. After the program, I have never missed a chance to submit a proposal for both online and on-site conferences. It kick-started my academic activities and engagement: I have already given 13 presentations at various conferences, published seven papers, and contributed to several educational magazines and podcasts.
