'Participating as a mentor and later as a coordinator with EVE has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Guiding and supporting my mentees' professional growth has given me the opportunity to reflect on my own practice, share insights, and engage in meaningful dialogue about language teaching. It has been a mutually enriching journey that has also reaffirmed the power of collaboration in our field. My mentees are still in contact with me and they have become my friends. I would certainly recommend EVE to any of my colleagues who haven't yet considered mentoring. It really is a rewarding process of growth, collaboration, and mutual learning.'

'This was my first time as an EVE mentor. I joined the program because I wanted to learn more about mentoring, but most of all, to support fellow teachers. I never imagined how much I would learn from the mentees themselves. They are outstanding professionals with so much to share, and they inspired me with fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm. EVE Mentoring is truly an amazing program—for both mentees and mentors. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and sincerely hope to continue growing and collaborating with EVE in the future.'

My journey with EVE began as a mentee, where I had the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain valuable insights through the support of an inspiring mentor and a dynamiccommunity. The experience challenged me to reflect, set goals, and develop both personally and professionally.
Later, I had the honor of becoming a mentor myself. This role allowed me to give back by guiding others through their own journeys, sharing what I had learned, and encouraging them to pursue their aspirations with confidence.
One of the most rewarding moments was being invited to present and share my experience with the broader EVE community. It was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the power of mentorship, highlight the impact of the program, and hopefully inspire others to engage and grow through EVE.

It always perplexed me at ELT conferences to see the mismatch between speakers and the audience. Invariably in the countries I have worked, I’d see almost all-female participants and mostly male speakers. I even challenged an organiser about the lack of women speakers and he said he had tried to get more women to speak, but couldn’t find any. Was it lack of opportunity, no support or not enough role models?
So, imagine my delight when I discovered EVE and the chance to get involved in turning the tide. It has not only been a delight to work with my mentees on a one-to-one basis to encourage and guide them, but to be part of a global team of experienced teachers/trainers/professionals happy to not only share our experience and expertise but also learn about teaching environments and challenges in different countries.
I am so proud to be part of the EVE team.
